Precautions:

For proximal tibial fractures, use at least 3 proximal locking screws and 2 distal locking screws.
For tibial shaft fractures, use at least 2 proximal and 2 distal locking screws.
For distal tibial fractures, use at least 2 proximal locking screws and 3 distal locking screws.
